BakBeat 1.9.0 is faster and more reliable — in your library, and on the devices you plug in.
What's New
- Improved search on Artists: find artists, albums, and songs, or switch to All Music to search the whole library.
- Settings → Library can scan for Uncatalogued Files on Music and Lossless storage, import what it finds, and clean up leftover metadata backups.
- Add a movie from a Zune HD into your BakBeat library, then keep it linked to that player.
- Expanded iPod audiobook handling: chapter marks and library links on iPod 5G, shuffle (1st generation) audiobook writes, and inline title correction when a name comes through wrong.
- Museum restore is a device action — put a preserved iPod back as captured, with progress you can cancel.
- Rescue Device writes ordinary folders you can browse, including podcasts as Show / Episode.
- Zune HD can reset its library, add music, playlists, movies, and TV, and keep the name you gave it.
Improvements
- Folder import is quicker to identify files, and the status lane names the real work — converting, copying, cataloging — instead of sitting on “Copying files.”
- Correcting an artist keeps the album’s tracks together. Writing FLAC tags is much lighter.
- Classic iPods use the on-device iTunes library name everywhere: rename, Scan, Museum restore, connected and disconnected.
- Adopt, connect, eject, disk use, and Scan with disk use off are more reliable. If a player is full, BakBeat says so.
- Devices Overview and Scan show video and audiobook counts the player actually supports.
- Extracting a device playlist writes an M3U that keeps the on-device order.
- Museum Browser uses the same Videos and Audiobooks tabs as Devices.
- Zune HD music-add progress counts each track. Deleting a playlist leaves the songs on the player.
